INTRODUCING: TITLES PROTOCOL V2
Introducing a new protocol for attribution of sampled AI models and media, creator earnings on mints, and add-as-you-go collection folders
For the past 6 months, we’ve dedicated TITLES to helping artists take ownership of their work through AI by making it easy to train, distribute, and earn from their own custom AI models. We’ve launched models with artists like Juujuumama and Ayaka Ohira from Shinsei Galverse, brands like Zora and Surreal, and IP groups like the Doge Foundation. Over 34,000 incredible creations have been published using one of 20+ models now available on TITLES. Now we’re taking things to the next level.
We’ve learned so much from both artists providing models and creators using them. Since then, we’ve packaged those learnings into a brand new protocol. One that elevates the experience for creating on TITLES, helps model owners and creators earn more, and sets the foundation for an entirely new way for artists to interact with what’s made with their models. The TITLES Protocol V2 is now live across our web + mobile apps. Here are some of the core improvements and what the future looks like…
A new system for onchain attribution of artist-models
Just a few months ago, we released a new toolset that makes it possible for artists, brands, and IP holders to train custom AI models on any collection they’ve made (get access, here). With this, we’ve brought together onchain data provenance with AI to allow creators to extend their original works through their own custom models.
Today, we’re supercharging this toolset with a new protocol for onchain attribution of artist-owned models and media. With V2, whenever a collection is composed sampling a model or media, a link is created between the new work and sampled assets. Our protocol builds a relationship map that allows for artists to understand when their models are used, by whom, and in-reference to what other creativity. The connection is forged onchain and by nature is publicly accessible, and continually referenceable.
The TITLES protocol creates a “together effect” by using attribution to build a network of socially and economically tied creativity. But it doesn’t stop there. Today, we’re setting the stage for a new kind of IP interaction layer for model owners. One that allows model owners to manage, curate, and promote the works sampling their models. Over the coming weeks, we’ll begin to introduce new extensions to the TITLES protocol and bring its potential to life.
Creators now earn from each mint on their collections
Every mint on the TITLES protocol now has a collectors fee of 0.0005 ETH. This fee is consistent across all collections but depending on the if the creator sets a price on their work, the dynamics on pricing change. All pay outs are made via Splits. Here’s a breakdown on how it works:
If the collection is priced at 0:
The collector fee is shared amongst TITLES, the creators of models or media within the composition, and now the creator.
Total mint fee: 0.0005 ETH
Creator & samples: 0.00033 ETH
Creator earnings: 0.0002475 ETH
Sample (Models & Media) earnings: 0.0000825 ETH (split evenly)
TITLES: 0.000165 ETH
If the collection is priced (For example, at 1 ETH):
If creators set a price on their creations, they retain 100% of their earnings minus 25% if there are attributed models or media within their composition. TITLES does not take a share of the price set by the creator but instead takes 100% of the mint fee.
Total Price: 1 ETH
Creator & samples: 1 ETH
Creator earnings: 0.75 ETH
Sampled (Models & Media) earnings: 0.25 ETH
TITLES: 0% of Price + 0.0005 ETH Mint fee
Add-as-you-go collection folders for continuous publishing
Organization is key. With the latest version of the protocol, we’re introducing ERC-1155 publishing contracts that allow continuous additions to your existing collections on TITLES. Just like a folder or album, you can now create thematic, time based, or one-off collections that show up under one collection. Start creating your first collection on TITLES, here.
Live across all your favorite networks: Base, Zora, Optimism, and ETH
Finally, our new protocol is available to create with today on Base inside our web and mobile app. Very soon, we'll add publishing support for all your other favorite networks including Zora, Optimism, and Ethereum. If you’re a network interested in supporting AI-native products and protocols on your chain, please reach out to us on Farcaster or Twitter.
What’s next?
We’re so excited to launch V2 and even more excited to see how it’s used. This launch is a foundational element for the future of TITLES and we would like to thank each of our early models and creators for contributing to get us here. For real. Over the coming weeks, we’ll continue launch new ways to create, tooling to help creators and model owners interact and earn, and introduce more models to create with.
Much love,
- TITLES
