Introducing Prism Labs

The world of work is undergoing significant changes, driven by factors such as technological advancement, economic globalisation and demographic shifts. The pandemic and the rise of gig and platform economics have contributed to the talent-centric paradigm shift in the world of work. This has resulted in deep-rooted changes that broke down the traditional workplace, replace the traditional workforce, and redefined work-life dynamics.

Building on trends observed within both the creator and gig economies, where workers are uncoupling themselves from the established paradigm of long-term employment, motivated by a greater share of value or more flexibility, and made possible by the growing use of blockchain. It is our belief that people in the future will engage in packets of smaller work with a number of organisations concurrently or consecutively. There are problems with the established paradigm, which will only be exacerbated in the new talent-centric paradigm:

  • Employers are struggling to remain relevant in an increasingly borderless workforce.

  • Current referral and credential systems are broken.

  • Talent-side platform data are not a reliable source of truth.

  • DEI still remains a massive issue.

In this world of greater transcience, the ease of finding the next project (for talent) or qualified talent (for hiring managers), and the ability to rapidly validate talent’s credentials and experience, becomes of the utmost importance.


This is where Prism Labs steps in. Prism Labs was created as a manifestation of the aspirational ideas of creating a truly decentralised, peer-to-peer platform, which enables users to earn rewards by completing work through said platform, building and maintaining the protocol and staking in other users as a signal of trust.

Prism Labs recently secured funding from Founders Factory, who are supporting us with our mission to build the world’s most effective decentralised talent network - one that is community owned and serves the interests of it users by aligning incentives between talent and organisations.

To get us closer to out north star over the next twelve months Prism Labs has two mandates:

  1. Ship Prism Marketplace, a product for connecting expert talent with exciting startups.

  2. Launch Prism DAO, which will manage the central tenets for the marketplace.

Given the unique challenges of the labour market; we want to create an additive, rather than extractive community and product that contributes to the professional growth of talent whilst allowing clients to remain agile.
